Baby nurseries are so fun to design. You can follow current baby nursery trends, go with a classic soft, pastel nursery, or think completely out of the box with your child's baby nursery. I could spend hours scrolling through photos of baby nurseries, imagining what my child's nursery will look like and what my child will be like.

Putting together all of my baby nurseries for my children gave me a way to bond with my kids before I even met them. Just a little reminder that you need to follow the ABC's of safe sleep; baby should sleep alone, on his back, in a crib. That means that while you may love the look of bumpers and stuffed animals in the crib, you must absolutely not use them once your baby comes along. There should be nothing in your baby's crib except your baby. This is for your baby's safety.

Here are 8 real baby nurseries that will knock your socks off and hopefully inspire you when you create your baby's nursery:

1. Wall decals are a great way to pull together the theme for your baby's nursery. I love this forest themed nursery.

2. Using big baskets on the floor is a great way to store stuffed animals in a baby's nursery. Check out this airplane-themed nursery.

 3. A statement curtain can turn a basic nursery into a super fun and special nursery. Check out this black and white themed nursery:

4.  With proper planning and strategic placement, you can fit all your nursery needs in even the smallest of spaces. I love this nursery where everything fits comfortably in a small space.

5.  A bright and happy wall color makes for a bright and happy nursery. Take a look at this boho elephant nursery:

6. We only get a small peek into this mermaid baby nursery, but the coordinating details are just fabulous. I love the starfish hanging in the window and the scales rug. The baby nursery says "mermaid" without being over the top. I love it, don't you?

7. This baby nursery appears to have hardwood floors, but they are actually waterproof floors. What a brilliant decision for a baby's nursery, where you never know what might happen. Check out this simple and sleek baby nursery:

8. Paper flowers are a hot trend I can get behind. I love that they can be affordable but look beautiful. If you use paper flowers or any art, take care that they are not within reach of your baby and that they won't injure your child if anything falls off the wall during the night.

Putting together your baby's nursery might be one of the first things you do for your new baby. Enjoy the process and this first step into motherhood. I loved designing my baby nurseries for my little ones and I can't wait to do it all over again for my fourth baby. Happy designing!
